Viziting Bordeaux: The wine

Bordeaux is a city with many tourist attractions. You can find an overview here:

Participants will also find more information in the guides they receive when they register for the congress.

Wine

Many of you may wish to take advantage of your stay to taste wine, whether it is from Bordeaux, the great South West or simply French wine. You will be given the opportunity to do so during receptions or on certain excursions. A visit to the museum of the city of wine is also recommended.

There are many places to taste wine in Bordeaux, and it is not possible to list them here. However, we can mention the wine bar of the Conseil interprofessionnel des vins de Bordeaux (CIVB), located not far from the Place des Quinconces, 3 Cour du 30 Juillet, which offers Bordeaux wine tasting at low prices.

Buying wine

Bordeaux also has a very large network of wine shops for all tastes and price levels. Here is a small selection in the vicinity of the congress venues, not exhaustive:

-L'autre comptoir, 9 Rue Duffour Dubergier, opposite the Musée d'Aquitaine (a wide choice of wines from all origins, at very good prices. Very good advice)

-Le Clos des remparts, 54 Rue des Remparts (small wine shop, with an excellent choice of wines from all origins, at very fair prices)

-L'Intendant Grands Vins de Bordeaux, 2 Allées de Tourny (great Bordeaux wines, in a prestigious location)

-Badie, 60 - 62 Allées de Tourny (an institution, very large choice, of wines from Bordeaux and elsewhere)

-Whine More Time, 8 Rue Saint-James (wine bar and wine shop, with a very good choice of beers too)

-La Cave à Part, 11 Cour Gambetta, Talence (a bit out of the way, on the way to the tram B, Barrière Saint-Genès, but a small wine shop with a remarkable choice of wines, original, at very good prices and with excellent advice)
