La Cour Mably is located in the “triangle” district of Bordeaux, in the heart of the historic area of the city between the Marché des Grands Hommes and the Place du Chapelet, where we find the Church of Notre-Dame and the Passage Sarget. It is one of the two cloisters of the former Jacobin convent, built in 1684 to plans by architect Michel Duplessy. At the time of the French Revolution, it was requisitioned by the Army. In 1886, the building became the property of the City of Bordeaux. It was renovated and housed a Municipal Library and, at the same time, the Museum of Antiquities whose collections were later transferred to the Museum of Aquitaine. With the construction of the new municipal library, part of the buildings have housed the Regional Chamber of the Court of Auditors. Today, the Cour Mably is the scene of many outdoor concerts and many events. Its rooms also host temporary exhibitions. 

Der Innenhof Cour Mably befindet sich im Stadtteil des sogenannten « Goldenen Dreiecks » von Bordeaux im Herzen des historischen Zentrums zwischen dem Marché des Grands Hommes und dem Place du Chapelet, wo sich auch die Kirche Notre-Dame und die Passage Sarget befinden. Der Innenhof ist einer der beiden Kreuzgänge des ehemaligen Jakobinerklosters, das 1681 nach den Plänen des Architekten Michel Duplessy gebaut wurde. Während der Französischen Revolution wurde der Hof von der Armee beschlagnahmt. 1886 wird der Cour Mably von der Stadt Bordeaux erworben. Er wird renoviert und beherbergt eine Stadtbibliothek und gleichzeitig das Antikenmuseum, dessen Sammlungen später in das Musée d’Aquitaine verlegt wurden. Mit dem Bau der neuen Stadtbibliothek wurde die Regionalkammer des Rechnungshofs in einem Teil der Anlage untergebracht. Heutzutage ist der Cour Mably ein beliebter Ort für Open-Air-Konzerte und vielfältige Veranstaltungen geworden. Außerdem finden Wechselausstellungen in den Innenräumen statt.
