The congress website is in five languages: French, English, German, Spanish and Italian.
For technical reasons, we have had to group the languages in pairs: the German version is found with the English version, the Italian version with the Spanish version.

The Ausonius Institute (CNRS – Université Bordeaux Montaigne) and the Département Sciences archéologiques (Université de Bordeaux), under the patronage of the  Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres (AIBL, Paris), the International Association of Greek and Latin Epigraphy (AIEGL) and the Société Française d'études épigraphiques sur Rome et le monde romain are pleased to invite you to the 16^th International Congress of Greek and Latin Epigraphy, which will take place in Bordeaux  from August 29 to September 2, 2022.

The aim of the conference is to reflect on the situation of epigraphy and the role of the epigrapher in the 21st century. The congress will, therefore, be organized around thematic, chronological or geographical reports, which will allow us to assess advances in our knowledge with regards to methodological, technical or ethical issues that occur in contemporary epigraphic studies. Particular attention will be paid to new epigraphic perspectives made possible by the development of digital humanities.

Aus technischen Gründen mussten wir die Sprachen zu zweit gruppieren: die deutsche Version findet sich bei der englischen, die italienische bei der spanischen Version.

Das Institut Ausonius (CNRS - Universität Bordeaux Montaigne) und das Département Sciences archéologiques (Université de Bordeaux), unter der Schirmherrschaft der Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres (AIBL, Paris), der Association Internationale d’épigraphie grecque et latine (AIEGL) und der Société Française d'études épigraphiques sur Rome et le monde romain  lädt Sie ein herzlich zur Teilnahme am 16. Internationalen Kongress für Griechische und Lateinische Epigraphik ein, der vom 29. August bis zum 2. September 2022 in Bordeaux stattfinden wird.  

Ziel dieser Ausgabe ist es, über die Situation der Epigraphik im 21. Jahrhundert nachzudenken und dabei die Rolle des Epigraphikers zu berücksichtigen. Zu diesem Zweck sollen thematische, chronologische oder geographische Untersuchungen dazu beitragen, den heutigen Stand unserer Kenntnisse zu erörtern und dabei methodologische, ethische und technische Fragestellungen der gegenwärtigen Epigraphik eingehend zu diskutieren. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wird auf die Erneuerung der Epigraphik im Kontext der Digital Humanities gerichtet.
